(Update 10/21/16: This was my first massage room in Jacksonville, but now I’m in a different one)
Here’s the relaxing place where I work my massage magic!
Today was the final day of the Advanced Sideline Thai Massage workshop at Ananda Kula, with my wonderful teacher Ariela Grodner. It was so nice to be with a small group of people who are all really focused on learning this beautiful work. It really is an art, and when both the giver and the receiver are fully relaxed and present, it is like a dance. When I was first introduced to this primarily sideline sequence 6 years ago, it was very challenging, and I think I let a lot of stuff fall by the wayside. This weekend, though, it didn’t seem as bad, and I think I’ll definitely be putting this sequence to use. I want to say thank you again to this sweet group of people for a weekend well spent!

For me, August was pretty slow, for the most part, business-wise. I tried to make good use of the time by kicking my exercise into high gear…I think I mentioned starting to attend Body Pump a while back and I’ve really been enjoying that, plus I surprised myself along with a few others by deciding to do a 5K, AND actually training for it this time with the Couch to 5K program (I’ve done 4 5Ks before but very half-assedly). I’m proud to say I’m in the middle of week 6, and my race is in about 2 weeks!
In massage news, I’ve started doing chair massage at the Ancient Oaks Arts & Farmers Market in Mandarin, so if you’re in the Jacksonville area, stop on by some Sunday! Of course, don’t forget to schedule a massage appointment with me at my office (also in Mandarin) by calling 904-274-1584. (Update 7/24/15: Sadly, the farmer’s market is no longer open. 🙁 )
Lastly, to those of you reading this page…let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you, or if you have a suggestion for this site.
In case you’re one of those people who waits and waits to get a massage, stop putting it off! You already know it makes you feel wonderful, but check out this link that will help you realize how much massage has to offer: Massage Benefits: 9 Healthy Reasons to Make an Appointment Today!
